Here's some tourist hotspots to take in: Independence Hall - the birthplace of American government, Franklin Court - Ben Franklin's home and workplace. If you want to go for the full on history tour you can also take in Congress Hall - where the US Congress met between 1790 and 1800 when Philadelphia was the nation's capital.
