I have just purchased a second hand laptop where everything had been removed, it is running Win.XP with internet explorer (8) can anyone please recommend a free spell checker that I can access via an icon on my top toolbar. Happy 2011 to all ABers.

I'd suggest Firefox, you'll need to install the British English dictionary (otherwise it will underline words like colour and tyre and insist they are color and tire) but it's better than the google toolbars spellchecker as it checks as you type rather than having to click a button
