They have paid up quickly when we've made a claim however the premium has gone dramatically since we first took the policy out! Started off £4.99 and now its over £45!!
The 2nd policy is with Sainsburys Pet insurance and is very reasonable. We have had it for 7 years, not made any claims and it has only gone up by £2 per month. Each condition is covered for the life of the dog and the excess is very reasonable-I have recommended this policy to lots of my friends and they are all happy with it! Morethan is good also but the excess is alot and from what i can remember increases with the age of the dog!

Petplan quibbled over the veterinary reatment when I had to have poor old Shaney put to sleep :(
Read all small print on any plan very, very carefully .We had Pet plan for Shaney .As he got older it went up by leaps and bounds as did the excess..Any vets fees we ever had always came to just under or just over the excess which I found very strange .
If ( and it's a big if ) we were to have another dog I wouldn't use them again .

Lottie is insured with Sainsburys. She was diagnosed a year ago with cartilage problems and I've had to claim quite a lot plus a lump sum for surgery after a bad bite from an evil German Shepherd. My premium only went up by £2 a month. Cheques received within 10 days and excellent customer service. They were recommended to me by a friend who has 2 labs who have also had quite a lot of problems. I have the 'for life' policy which for us has been very fortunate with Lottie's diagnosis.
Though our dear staffy has now died (13yrs) we had him insured with Direct Line. He had cancer twice (major operations plus aftercare etc.) plus several other things later. D.L. always settled quickly & had really sympathetic staff to help with claims. Though the last couple of years were more expensive naturally, we can highly recommend Direct Line & will certainly use them for any future dog/s we may have.
