What can I do for my 40th birthday?

I turn the big 4-0 at the end of the month and am unsure what to do for it! I have been thinking about a long weekend in Berlin but would appreciate any other suggestions! I have limited funds and am not one for parties! Prefer to holiday alone ( saves arguments - been there, done that!!) and love city visits! Open to acts of randomness too! What did / would you do?

I went to Paris and it was wonderful. I hadn't been there since I was a student. On the day, I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Not been to Berlin, but friends recommend it. But, as someone else said, forget all the travel chaos! I'm sure there are lots of places in Britain that would be good too - why not go somewhere you haven't been before and enjoy the journey there too..... Muzz

do you do b+b Mcmouse? think i'll be heading to berlin as i've found cheap accomodation and flights. istanbul isn't an option because of flight times etc so, das is das!
