If you phone Crimestoppers and remain anonymous, how on earth can you claim a reward? Do they put it in a brown paper bag and leave it in a litter bin somewhere for you to collect?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.When you call us, we will give you a code. This will be the only way of identifying you anytime you ring back or collect the reward. If you are interested in collecting a reward, you will be asked to contact us again at a later date, to find out if the information you have given has led to somebody being arrested and charged.
Once a suspect has been charged, you will be told that the amount of the reward needs to be confirmed by the Chairman of the local Crimestoppers Board of Volunteers. This may take a few days. Once this has been confirmed, you will be then asked to name:
* the branch of a bank where you can collect the reward
* the date when you want to collect it.
On the agreed date, all you need to do is to go to the bank branch, quote your code and you will be given your cash reward. You will not be asked to sign anything or to provide any proof of your identity.

I stayed at a Days Inn at Corley before Christmas and met a friend there who had arrived early and booked in, giving her registration details. When I got there we went straight to the room as she had the key. I got sent a parking fine for £90 for being there overnight without paying but fortunately the booking was in my name and I have been let off as I could prove I had paid for the accommodation. I wondered if they were going to say it was only one vehicle per booking! Perhaps if I report myself I could claim the reward.
