I was trying to install some anti-virus software on my Dads laptop last night. When I put the disk in it wizzed around for a bit and then nothing happened so I went to my computer and couldn't see it in there. My b/f tried to go to 'run' and entered something he thought would get the disk running but said it appeared the laptop had no D:. It had possibly been removed?

It used to be my laptop so I know it was capable of reading disks at one time although I haven't used it for years. I cant' remember the exact model but it's a Packard Bell and I was trying to install Norton. Any ideas what is wrong and how to get it working?
