im afraid i cant but join the club !

quite a few of us have been suffering with this recently.i have a theory that it is something to do with the summer weather as in the past week or so my connection has dropped out far less than it has been.

so fingers crossed the problem will disappear......until may or june next year !

When you say it loses its signal do you mean that the line is dropped and the PC then closes the port so that you have to restart the pc or refresh the port. If this is the case then it could well be a driver issue and the best solution for this is to uninstall the modem and then reinstall or alternatively see if there are any updated drivers at the hardware manufacturers website. This used to happen to me if the modem drivers were installed with the modem already plugged in
Could it happen when the phone is used?  If so perhaps your internal phone line is too long or you need to fit ADSL filters to all other phones.
This is happening a lot to a lot of people on all service providers. It is obviously a problem with BT, ever tried to get BT to sort a problem out, forget it, its easier to take a course or buy a book and do it yourself.
