maybe time to pack in work eh?
I would get in touch with whoever wrote you the letter, and explain your circumstances. If you can't get there, hopefully they will come to you again.
if you're not being paid maybe be best to find another job
yes you can ask..they can say yes or no.. does'nt hurt to ask.
Ask them if they can come and visit you. They've done it before so surely they can do it again.
When I was in a similar position our meetings could be held at any mutually acceptable location - I chose a nice coffee cafe in town. If it is a large organisation that you work for there will be written down procedures to follow.
And another thing, as you've been off sick for over a year they sould have been making more contact with you than just 1 meeting in August.
As a manager who does a lot of these type of meetings, I often want/need them to take place as they are an essential part of the process if as employer I think it is time to bring the situation to an end, or to offer support and try to get the person back to work. So within reason, i will meet at a time and place of the employee's choosing as frankly it is often more to my benefit that the meeting happens so I need to be flexible in order to make sure it happens Therefore I would say that it is always worth asking as if they want and need this meeting to take place, then they should be able to be flexible to ensure that this happens.
but isn't it better to go voluntarily than wait to be pushed?
blimey, i reckon you must either work for the nhs or the council, what other employer would let you be off for 1 year 5 months :)
I pity your cooleagues having to cover you for over a year. Surely, it's time to step down now?
