Hello everyone,
I'm going to New York in February and I'm interested in going on a day trip somewhere. I'm thinking Atlantic City but I'm sure there's something more interesting out there. Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks

I remember seeing a flyer for a very good looking overnight trip which included Philly, Baltimore and Washington. Click here, where you might get some other ideas too.
If you are interested in going shopping, you could head for Woodbury Common - it's only one hour away, leaving from Port Authority, but there are 330 outlet shops, so you'll be busy!
Although New York is one city, it is made up of a number of areas, of which Manhatten is only one.
There is also the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island.
I do not know how long you have there, but don't think you have to go somewhere else for the day. There is LOADS to do in NewYork, in fact I have never been to a city with so much to do in it.
Broadway, Times Square, UN Building, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Greenwich Village, Little Italy, shops, museums, cathedrals, places to eat, nightclubs etc.
One option is to take a boat trip all round Manhatten, for indeed it is an Island.
Not sure what you are looking for, but a boat trip to Staten Island is wonderful. So different from Manhatten, almost like rural England, and the view over to Manhatten from the ferry is amazing.
Staten Island also has Richmond Town living museum, see here http://www.historicrichmondtown.org/
By the way, suggest you buy a guide book or two before you go, and maybe look on the web as their are loads of sites about New York.
