With IE e-mail I get about on average 50 unwanted spam e-mails daily, whereas with gmail and aol I don`t get any at all, and I`m fed up with them. Can I get Virgin Media, whom are my suppliers, to pevent them like the other two do? Surely they should be able too.
If you can find a way to stop spam mail, you will be a very rich man. Your other email address will be on the internet somewhere and a spammer will have picked it up. Your gmail account will be private (for now).
I know what you mean and have had about the same quantity of spam. Whilst I cannot answer your specific point it might help to know what happens in another situation. My ISP is Orange and I frequently visit their webmail page which shows that most spam emails are automatically dumped (by Orange) as 'junk mail' and I can add others by marking them as junk if I wish. I also have other email addresses that are not so badly affected, but that is not to say that spammers won't eventually latch on to them. MailWasher is also useful. Good luck.
If so try going to the virgin webmail page and logging in, I believe there are spam and junk mail setting there that will effect the emails you download.
Unwanted Spam Mail, implying there is some wanted spam around ?
You can get a spam control app such as Mailwasher. (Ah: I now see Coldicote mentions that one.)
My AV software now flags spam for me.
No system is perfect though, the best way to sort between spam and non-spam is reading it. Although I have developed quite some trust in present day solutions, but I still cast an eye over the titles.
I have long had Mailwasher but it doesn`t appear to do anything, and have been using AOL and g.mail for a couple of years and never had spam at all with either.
