It's A Snowflake...shut Things!
News1 min ago
I have had a K reg Cavalier for about a year and it has started making a grinding noise from the front when I am turning to the right. Going dead straight or turning to the left is fine. I don't know which side the noise is coming from, it's just somewhere at the front. I have checked under the wheel arches and nothing is rubbing but it has got much louder this last week and when you're going above 40 it sounds like a wheel is going to fly off or something. It doesn't feel like the brakes and I just recently had them done, I also had two new shocks on the front about 3 weeks ago. One small point though; when I have got full-lock on to the right, the brake pedal loses pressure, but is fine the rest of the time, and I'm not losing brake fluid. Anybody got any ideas what it could be?
Cheers

your boot gaters on the drive shaft cv joint
the bushes on your shocks
which ever wheel has been affected, could be that the brake calipar has not been replaced properly
If your car has power steering check the fluid; or the pump may have failed.
check that you have the right size tyres put on.
THESE ARE SOME OF THE MANY THINGS THAT MAY CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN ALTHOUGH I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A GARAGE TO CORRECTLY DIAGNOSE THE FAULT.
Power steering is working fine, but just checked fluid anyway and it is at max. Had 4 new tyres put on when brakes were done last month & they are the right size.
Looks like it is going to be something expensive - I've spent 1300 on it in the last 2 months & I only paid 700 for the car in the first place. Kinda hoped it would be a while longer before I had to spend even more!
I'll take it to a garage on Monday. Thanks for your replies.
