Minors in court over assault/self dedence
3 Answers
The facts of the matter are that my 14 yr old nephew and his friend were assaulted by 3 other boys in a park and they fought back in self defence. His friend apparantely had previous issues with the 3 assailants but not my nephew. My nephew was taken from school and held at the police station for 7 hours and made a statement. He plead self defence as he was attacked first. There was bruising and blood on both sides. The other 3 boys attended hospital and one had a bleeding nose and one concussion.
My nephew is being charged with ABH and running away from the police at school. My question is wether his age(14) and the fact it was self defence has any bearing in the process and outcomes/penalties handed by the court???
