Delayed printing Epson RX685
5 Answers
I have this all in one and for a while II have had a problem in that it takes up to 5 minutes to start printing. I have spoken to Epson and had it checked out without resolving. In the course of this I have realised the delay is caused by the PC as it photocopies OK and produces the usual excellent results once it gets started. Please can anyone offer assistance I think it must be settings on PC but have tried all I can think of and more besides!! including re-installing
Thanks if you can help

Yes .. I think this is slow PC/and/or slow spooling.
Best you can do is make sure you have latest drivers .. and defrag.
BTW .. Does your printer do this ....?? ....

What are you printing from? if it's a computer with USB 1 ports then it can take a long time to send larger documents to the printer. also if the printer has not been used for a little while it will go to sleep and take a little while to wake up.
You can also try right clicking on the printer in control panel > printers and selecting properties, click on the advanced tab and select start printing immediately.
Also if you have any options set to collate what you are printing then the printer will need to wait for all pages to be sent to it before it can start printing so it can print them in the correct order.

Thanks AlBags that sounds a very likely cause (I have Vista 64bit)and I will certainly try it today
Thanks too to ChuckFickens I tried the advanced printing setting made no difference and mostly printing single pages text. When printing a number of Christmas cards (A5 glossy photos) for example it was slow to start but multiple pages continued as normal
