maire, oh yes oh yes !! At first I shouted with frustration, but you get the knack. Brush out the grooves, slide the planks together a few times, and of course use the block (with a conventional hammer not a mallet) sharply and firmly from both the sides and edges. If it isn't fitting well, separate the planks, and try again until you get that near-invisible join. I've done 4 rooms now, the last the kitchen, and that with extra-thick laminate. So practice, use sharp taps, and lose your temper occasionally ! It's really worth it when you've finished.
