I'm going to be 40 this year. When Lt Tiggs is 20 I'll be 59!

When my son popped out I said, "Is it a boy" when I was told it was I said "Thank God, never again"!! Then had my daughter 4 years later.
I was only channel hopping earlier, watching it properly on +1 now. What's with Ralph and his ancient history?!
Chrissa, I had my son first, and said that's it!....No More!............ten years later, my daughter was born!.............I asked ' is it a girl' and was told 'yes it is'........my reply was 'Great one of each variety, until they invent a different one, that's me done'......and I meant it!................
I had an emergency C-section.......that's one way around the pain. But I missed 'meeting' lil pasta straight away....... ;-(
It's probably a really good thing that I was older when I had my first or there's no saying how many we would have ended up with. I could look after one baby standing on my head after having twins.
Not that im saying these ladies are, but did anyone encounter a patronising midwife?!
On my second child I got to the hospital a bit late and the midwife swore blind that the baby wasnt on it's way - he was born within the hour.
jb, yes when I had my son, the midwife was really patronising, I ignored her mostly, and concentrated on having my baby!.......she did annoy me a little though!......
I can be quite intolerant of people apparently - OH has said he won't be surprised if I ask someone to leave the room (my money's on him!)
Ist said no pethadine. Jabbed anyway. Threw up everywhere , after that fine.
2nd. Nothing. All fine.

When we arrived at the hospital to have my 2nd, there were two "ladies" being checked in with one bloke!! He was the father of both of them. Back in those days, the early 80's that made my husband laugh.
Don't do that JB - just think about getting to see your baby (and going home within 24 hours). Be prepared for the shock of being asked/told to go for a shower about an hour after the birth though (you'll be amazed how wobbly your legs feel!).
jb, if you feel that way, just ask them to leave, sure they will, but I think you'll be fine!...............you'll be concentrating on delivering your baby!..........by the way, when is your little one due?.........
Due 17th ! Soon be here, eek!
I drained the whole tank of gas and air when I had my son. I swore at everyone, told Mr.Den if he did'nt stop wiping my face with that fecking flannel I would shove it up his ass.

When my son was finally delivered - they said would you like to hold him and bond - I said bring him back when he is ready for school................(:0 (
I remember after I'd had my daughter 40 years ago(!) I was having a lovely bath and could hear a woman screaming the place down, I heard the midwife tell her if she didn't stop the racket she would slap her round the face to shut her up-imagine them daring to say that these days, did the trick though, not another peep.
Gas & air was useless. (Husband at the time took charge of that for himself anyway, selfish git. Didn't bode well for our future).
Pethidine was useless.
Labour was mercifully short, but bl00dy painful, with both of them. I didn't scream but I could have, easily.
The little darlings were worth it ;-) And this year my son is to have his own child. Isn't the circle of life really rather wonderful?
Question Author
That's the truth salla they are worth every minute/hour of labour. I thought Pethadine was like having an intravenous Gin n Tonic!!
Best of luck on the 17th JB
