I have a Sky + box, but my son asked if I could look after his Sky + HD box whilst he moves house. He took out my box, and replaced it with his, so I could have the benefit of a superb picture and more recording space. Unfortunately, I have found, very irritatingly so, that some programmes record, some don't. A message flashes up when I try to view a recorded programme which states, 'Recording interrupted. Please wait.' One could wait until the cows come home, as nothing happens. Sometimes 2 programmes record, sometimes neither does. As I was thinking of upgrading to an HD box, this does not bode well. Is this a known problem? Is there anything which can be tweaked to avoid the frustration of the box not recording as it should? Would I be better to just revert back to my box? Any advice would be welcomed. Many thanks.
Thank you both for your very speedy answers. I have now got my box back into place, and Robert's box is now in the cupboard and will stay there for the next two weeks until he has moved into his new house. Your helpful responses were much appreciated, as I thought I had done something to make the box malfunction.
To receive Sky H/D you need an upgrade LNB in your dish which will allow 2 cables to the Sky H/D box, if you look at your satellite dish & you only have 1 downlead there is no way you will H/D reception.Ron.
ive just upgraded to HD, i didnt need an extra wire as the original Sky + needs 2 cables anyway. It was a simple case of changing box and have the Sky installer change some figures on set up
You can receive HD using the old single LNB no problems, the quad LNB is only required for the recording aspect of the box, the two connections allow you to watch one channel while recording another.
