Best wireless router for me?

Any advice welcomed - my Linksys has started dropping its internet connection, and after the unspeakable joy and human warmth of working through both their telephone help and website it seems that it is suffering from terminal inbuilt obsolesence. Off out to get a replacement - and if anyone wants to share thoughts on decent solutions you will have my undying affection.
Part of the house is Accrington brick ..... might be a material fact.
