Pins and needles in pointed toe

I had pins and needled in my middle toe when I pointed my foot a while back. I had some physio (massage/ultrasound) on my ankle and it went away. However now I have it much worse on the other ankle, in my big toe. I had an arthroscopy and debridement on this ankle last year and it was much better, but is now starting to hurt again. I basically have arthritis in my joints, loose bits moving around and causing pain and locking. I also have slipped discs. I just wondered what was causing the pins and needles feeling in my toe when I point my foot?

Almost certainly one of the "loose bits" is pressing on a digital nerve........no big deal.

Thanks Sqad- interesting. THe loose bits in that ankle should all be gone now though, since that's the one I had the arthroscopy on! Unless they have come back? Or it's coming from higher up/knee or back?
Scarlett...the pins and needles are unlikely to be coming from your knee or back.
