Just had my water bill of £175 drop on my mat . That's a lot. Oxfam can supply a whole African village for just £2 a month: time to change supplier I think.

Someone has to pay for all the leaking pipes. There's been a leak near my Grandads for 3 weeks now.
It's a bit unfair to expect moonraker to pay for your Grandad's leaking pipes though ummmmmmmm.......They probably don't even know each other.
I suppose :-)

I don't even know how much our water costs....

Quite right.
I've always considered my water bill to be good value - unlimited quantity of pure, potable water pumped right into my home; disposal of unlimited quantity of dirty water and liquid waste from my home and all the environmental considerations involved in the above. Very good value, in fact.
the water board get it for nothing. They simply repackage it and sell it on. Fairly lucrative business!
Water boards don't exist - since 1974!
sounds like maybe you should move to an a village, or get oxfam to supply you water...
