I don't have children so I guess I can't really have an opinion but I'm intruiged by something.

You are in a super market with your mum/nan and you have a toddler in the trolley. Your toddler is screaming blue murder the whole time you are in the supermarket. What do you do?

LOL. You honestly had just written what I nearly did about the dog leash post and thought better if it.

I really do agree with you Andy. If people included their children in their shopping and made it interesting for them and talked to them, instead of plonking them in a trolley and ignoring them shopping might be a lot more pleasureable. I can remember Little LL pushing the trolley around at a very young age. Well he thought he was, but I was behind him pushing and stearing. It took ages, but we discussed all the things going in the trolley. He didn't get sweets and treats either. He wasn't a little angel but I wouldn't have tolerated screaming fits.
Sorry my first sentence was for Smudge.
I try to get alongside with my trolley and wait for that perfect moment when the feral brat's fingers are over the side of their trolley ...
My sister used to "accidentally" clip them with her basket
Just one look from Lottie Lofty over to the left there < would shut them up.

Give it something to cry about hey Naz.

We always got invovled with it too Lofty when we were young. We were used as the go getters. Although there were seven of us so it was probably quite handy for my parents, and reduced the amount of time in the supermarket a fair bit I shoudl imagine.

I get a bit scared of that look sometimes and I'm not even having a tantrum.
LOL Milly!!

I hope people realise that that is not really me!! (I sure can give that look though!! - I look over my glasses and scowl when I am cross!!)
Sensible parents Milly.
I was a tantrum thrower so I'm not it had anything to do with how your parents engage with you. My Mother was one of the most patient people I've ever met and always kept us engaged.

I still have the odd tantrum now....but only at home :-)
Question Author
Oh yeah, I have loads of tantrums now when I don't get my own way. But they are usually reserved for the boy.
gas mark 5.. 30mins !!!
when my two were a little older they used to have their own shopping lists and take their own baskets and would stay by the side of me looking for things on their list. If i felt their attention was slipping, i would ask them to keep an eye out for half a dozen dragon eggs or, Unicorn burgers kept them quiet for a while !!!
Put it in one of the freezer cabinets, and defrost on returning home! LOL
lol invictas
Whenever my children had a tantrum in a shop I would just abandon my trolley/basket of shopping and leave the store with the children. I would only go back once they had calmed down.
