Which actor - that is the term used for actresses these days too - has given the best performance in film or tv when they are in their 80s or 90s (or older)? Not just now but previous years too.

Good one Chris. Eric Sykes is still going, So is June Whitfield she's about 83 now.
Thanks for remembering 'Eth', AYG ;-)
June Whitfield is a treasure.

Good grief, I thought that Eric Sykes was long gone to push daisies up!

I will nominate John Gielgud as well re the movies.
Currently in the TV ad for California...Betty White, who is 89! I had no idea she was THAT old.
Saw Thora Hird in a repeat play last night with Pete Postlethwaite. Both brilliant, she must have been about 85 at the time.
Ray Milland (3 January 1905 – 10 March 1986)
Christopher Lee has performed roles in 266 films since 1948 making him the Guinness book world record holder for most film acting roles ever. And this year appearing in Charlemagne: The mens of Death.
I always liked Hume Cronyn - he was Jessica Tandy's husband and they appeared together in a lot of things.
The fella that played Barney Rubble in the original TV series must be quite old now .Never seen him in anything else though.
Paul Newman - Road To Perdition with Tom Hanks. Quality.
He may have been late 70's I am unsure?
