Got the gas bill today (not as hideous as I expected - bit of a bonus) and noticed that I am on a standard tariff. Is there a better one, and if so, how do I get on it (won't get the opportunity to ring and enquire as the little people (children, not dwarves) want to speak to anyone that I am speaking to). Thanks (PS - we're with British Gas and pay the bill in full when it arrives.)

I thought British gas were giving customers some money back this time around

Not us!
Hi sherr. Try putting your usage details in a website such as uswitch - they'd be able to look at tariffs by other companies and British gas to see what's best for you
Ring when the blighters are asleep?
Hi Sherrardk.

I hope that the party went well yesterday, and that you're gradually recovering from it ;-)

Thanks all, Hopkirk - when they are all asleep it's MY time. No housework, no tidying up, no nothing (including ringing up utility companies). Also, by the time they are asleep I am a gibbering wreck!

Hi Buenchico - kind of you to remember. The boy enjoyed it but the kids were the worst behaved bunch I have seen, had to threaten to take one kid home and told the others that I would switch the bouncy castle off if they didn't cut it out (they really were vile - their teacher earns her money).
You may be better off swapping the children for dwarves, and then the dwarves would not ask to speak to anyone on the phone. The dwarves could also get diamonds and precious stones, and that would be more than enough to pay for your gas bill.

Hi JohnnyBoy - husband has got a very non-PC thing about dwarves (don't ask) but I like the idea of shiney stones (but quite attached to the children really).
when you say "attached " sher, do you mean like glued together ?

Love them to bits - been a bit 'trying' today though.

Hi Eddie, we get gas and electric from them but it all looks so complicated (maybe on purpose). Might have to find the time/opportunity to ring them.
