Im going to sound really thick here but I just dont underdstand how to work my storage heaters. There's 2 knobs one says output wich I get but the other one saye early boost late boost etc. How does this work and whats the best setting to have it on for being out all day and wanting it boosting at 5 o'clock onwards? Early boost or late boost etc x
I had storage heaters like these in my last house. The output knob controls the amount of energy you put in the the storage heater (the timing of which is usually controlled by your offpeak heating controller). Who decided the input control should be called output?
The early or late boost determines when this heat is released back into the house. If you release the heat early you may find the heater is cool by evening and not much use, but then, nor is freezing in the morning. I found it easiest to have an early boost heater where we had breakfast and then set all the others to late boost while we were at work.
So glad you posted this, I just moved into a flat earlier this yr and am now 'trying' to figure out my stage heater for the winter. Mine is old I think, it says evening boost, afternoon boost or no boost.
So - from the looks of it from reading this - I have to have it on afternoon boost so its warm in the afternoon and hopefully a little of the evening - using the cheap evening electricity to store the heat?
