Where you named after anything?

Just heard the song 'Ben' and it always make me thing of my bf's brother, who was named after it. A song about a rat. hhmmm.

I don't think I was but my oldest brother got his name because before he came along my Mum had an eptopic pregnancy. She was told it was unlikely she would ever be able to have children. Some time after, she had a dream that she had a son called Paul. Within a few days of that dream she discovered she was pregnant and so named him Paul. She then went on to have 6 more. They named my sister Anji after a song but I don't think they were that thoughful with the rest of us, they just wanted to make sure we all had names people would automaticaly spell wrong or try to lenghten.

My middle name was given to me by my mam after she learned the midwife was called Nurse Dale. Not as bad as a guy who works with me - John Thomas !!

Well my Mum was named Vera, my name is obvious, but she swears she has never been to Dover!!

When I was at school we had a Petula Clark, Elizabeth Taylor and Gordon Bennet!

My mum was convinced she was having a boy and had no girls names chosen for me. When I arrived, she named me after twin girls in the next bed.

Lucky for me she wasn't in a ward on her own, or I could have been called Wash Handbasin or something similar

David, because I was born on D Day, altho my father wanted to call me Dwight Montgomery. Thankfully my mother won that little battle!!

I wasn't named after anyone and don't even have a middle name, but I always said if I had a daughter I would name her Holly after reading Breakfast at Tiffany's. Unfortunately, when I did have my daughter her surname was Wood - it sounded a bit too much like a future porn star so I had to ditch that idea :)

My name happens to be that of a well-known heavyweight champion of the world.

It had me in trouble at school, since every boy wanted to be known as the one to beat me. However, it did teach me to defend myself ; a bit like Johnny Cash's 'A boy called Sue'.
