Headlight bulb - Ford Focus C-Max.

Has anyone changed a headlight bulb in the Focus C-Max? The O/S dip beam bulb needs replacing in mine but there's big strut/bar right accross the back of the fitting so I can't get in to replace it. I would guess that the whole assembly has to be removed towards the front. Has anyone done this? Or is there is simpler way that I'm missing? TIA.

Mr CRX did mine the other week. Both full light housings had to come out for him to get to it :(

Take the lamp unit out.

The way vehicles are designed today, I'm surprised you don't have to remove the engine and gearbox.

Why do some car manufacturers make it so difficult to change a light bulb? It should be something that one could replace on the roadside within a few minutes....or is that just wishful thinking!

probably thats the reason i see so many cars with one headlight working these days,
on mine i have to take the battery out which in itself need a special long tool to remove that!

nothings easy anymore,not quite sure how Halfords get on when they offer to fit bulbs. I have an Astra van and to do that on the nearside it was easier to remove the headlamp but then the bumper had to come off !!OK, i work in the trade and one of my guys did it in 10mins but for anyone else probably an hour +. There is a flap in the wing liner but it was still easier to take the bumper and lamp out..
