Kinsale Harbour Lodge and Marina
3 Answers
We visit Kinsale in Cork quite regularly and have noticed that building was about to start on a Harbour Lodge and Marina, a couple of years ago. I now see that the builder has gone into liquidation, I think he owns the property as well and had a gorgeous house built in the hills overlooking Kinsale.Apparently he owed 60m Euros and fled to Portual. I wondered what is going to happen with the plot on the harbour? Has anyone taken over the building?

I would imagine that unless he has transferred all (or some) of his funds to Portugal then the properties would go to the bank,or whoever is his biggest creditor.
Does Ireland have an extradition treaty with Portugal, that is assuming he has done something illegal!

His name is Greg Coughlan and he built an amazing home called Fastnet House overlooking the harbour. I think he was a partner at Howard Holdings, an irish property company, I just googled all this, its fascinating. Wonder what is happening with the site in the harbour, and also if his house was repossessed.
