Witnessing the forceful tactics of the Egyptian police against the rioters, got me to thinking;

I wonder how many of these officers will be facing charges of 'heavy handed tactics'?

police response becomes brutality when the officers use more force than is reasonably necessary to stop the actions of the violators.

as far as i can see(so far), the protestors have been setting fire to government buildings and throwing petrol bombs at police.

The rioters deserve all they get, it's a change to see a police force that doesn't have to try and control riotous crowds with one hand tied behind their back.

I believe the Egyptian method is to concentrate on the ringleaders and bang them up inside. Eventally the rioters will be leaderless and will fizzle out. An excellent tactic!

Don't worry about the heavy handed approach of the police. Think about the bigger picture. Tunisia, Egypt and now Yemen. Next would be Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Pakistan perhaps. Reasons are simple. People are fed up with corrupt puppet rulers who play in the hands of USA & Co. And the ones who care more about “American Interests” than anything else.

You're probably right Keyplus about the influence of the USA. They say money talks and to upset the USA will mean less trade or handouts.
