The one that broke we got from Tesco just over 2 years ago. When it broke, I called the Tesco electrical helpline to see if there was any point in getting someone to try to fix it. A very helpful chap took me through a series of 'things to do to check it out' then decided that it was a dead TV. He then sent me a form to fill in to send to Customer Services . They wrote to me asking for a copy of my receipt (which I still had as they tell you to keep it for the normal guarantee). I sent that in and within a week or so, they sent me a lovely and totally unexpected cheque for £120 as the TV should have lasted longer than it did. We paid £300 for the TV new and had not taken out the extended guarantee , we never do as we think it's far too expensive.
SO, Result! and guess where we will be buying our next TV ?

I have a 32" TV in my spare room which broke down about 2-3 weeks after the guarantee ran out and when I complained to the dealers they didn`t want to know, and I took it to a repairs shop and was told they couldn't`t get a new part, and if they could, it would be cheaper to buy a new set than repair it.
