Not a question, but something I came across which I found fantastic, and I though t it might be useful fof other ABers. It's called Teracopy and speeds up copying on Windows machines. A batch of mp3s that I copied from my Win7 to my XP machine took 4 minutes using the normal Windows copy, and was almost instantaneous, once TreaCopy was installed. It integrates into explorer, so (while it does offer fancy options) simply dragging and dropping automatically uses it.

The free version is fine (although there is also a paid version).

The windows copy is useless and it's time estimations are simply pure fiction most the time, especially over networks, it seems to assume that every single file you are copying in the same size as the one it's currently copying and bases the time estimation on that.

Hi, Chuck.
Not sure if you are making a general comment, or are referring to the 4 minutes I quoted. If the latter, just to be clear, that wasn't the time that Windows estimated, it was the time that it actually took to copy.
Sorry, just making a general comment about the time estimations for windows copying stuff.

I might give it a go later, I've got about 100GB of MP3s to copy to my server at some point.
