Accountant hasn't done wages
9 Answers
Every month I send of the times sheets to the accountant who prepares the pay slips and then sends them to me so I can set up the payments on the bank account. I sent them to him yesterday and although he knows the pay day every month I always include a line in the e-mail that says 'for payment Monday 7th'. I got a reply this morning saying he would have the pay slips over to me on Monday. This means I can't set up the payments until Monday and the employees, including myself excpect the wages to be in their accounts the first thing on the monthly pay day. I know a number of people have standing orders and direct debits that go out on the same day so if one of those tries to go out of their account and the wages aren't in there yet, will the get bounced back even if the money goes in later that same day?

I called all the employees to see if there would be any problems for them if the money didn't get in their accounts on time and straight after I made the last call the accountant finally got back to me and said he would get the payslips over to me on Sunday, which means I'll have to go into the office at some point but at least everyone will be paid on time.
