Has anyone ever won a prize in a newspaper crossword competition?

I send mine off every week but haven't won for about 25 years..I still get a lot of fun doing them though. My theory is that because there is so much help available on the internet and from Answerbank they get a lot more entries than they used to

Hope everyone enjoyed their xmas day and long may they win in the New Year.

Yes, I've won the odd runner-up prize from the Telegraph - an abridged almanac and an anagram dictionary - but nothing will ever compare with the 10/6d Postal Order I won in the mid-fifties, for a crossword in the Junior Express! I've been hooked ever since, and I dread to think what I've put into the Royal Mail's coffers since then!
Thank you to all the ABers who answered. Its reassuring to know that somebody wins.
I'll keep on plodding away with help from all the clever people in ABland. It sounds as if we all deserve shares in the Post-Office from our not insignificant contributions to their profits. Although I haven't had much luck, my brother who lives in South Africa has won a couple of times, but their papers have now stopped doing prize crosswords. He is quite envious of our choice of competitions.
