Prize goes to owl lady. We went on a drive through the Wolds yesterday. I knew about the village of Mavis Enderby already, I live not too far from it. But we passed a pub called The Man with a Moustache which is one of the strangest names for a pub ever, and then through a village with a Fanny Hands Lane - needless to say that gave me pause for thought..... We were tempted to pause the engine.......

Nah - these are real names mcm. There obviously was a real Fanny Hands. Gawd knows who the man with the moustache was though - he looked like a WW1 fighter pilot.

I dont think I live too far from you sallabananas I have seen the sign for Mavis Enderby on the way to the coast and guessed the others had to be in the Wolds
