I'm going to do a spnsored silence for comic relief and possibly spliting the money 50/50 with cadets aswell.
I'm not entirely sure about the cadet bit I'll have to ask the commanding officer but one of the petty officers whose the second in charge of the unit thinks it'll be a good idea.
I'll just have to work out how to do the sponsor forms as the ones comic relief have, are emant to eb sent back to them with your sponsor money and it'll look odd if I only send half of it.
Plus I'll have to work out what day to do it, the actual 'day' is a friday but there's a girl in my biology and geography classes which I have on thursday so i might do both bits of it on thursday or start it with the silence at cadets on the thursday night, then during school time on friday, but then i'll only have half the day with this other girl who might be doing it.
Plus, that thursday fro cadets, is jsut before the inspection and the chances are it'll be really awkward if i can't speak, so maybe I could arrange to do it a different cadet night . . . it doesn't have to be the same day and the rest of the silence, but if i'm giving half the money to cadets I would like to do a cadet night of silence.
PS I will have a white board and pen so i can silently communicate with people.
I think that's the only full sentence i can say, actually I be polite and sign i want a biscuit please, then do thankyou, aswell as the other odd word here and there.
I think it's cheating if you do sign language or write things down - silence is silence. When the little kids do it, it's silence, no gestures (other than hands up to to go the loo!). You'd have to not come on here too, when you are on the silence - conversation in writing can't replace verbal communication. IMO. ;-)
Boxy I won't come on here. i think on the day i'll have a little letter written out, explaining what i'm doing, for people to read, and a whiteboard, but i won't have conversations with it, just to ask for simple things or to answer a question in class.
And non of you on here know what i'm like in real-life, until you get to know me i'm quite a shy person.
BTW I've got a total of £20 promised to the charities so far, and yes I've told the people that hopefully it'll be for both cadets and comic relief, but i'll tell them if that changes . . . .
