Weather Reflects How I Feel Today

Mr. Den rang me this morning to tell me news we have been expecting. His work colleague's son died this morning. He was 22 and has been fighting leukemia. He first got the disease when he was 17 and had treatment, which was successful. He was just coming up to his 5 years remission, end of last summer, when it came back.

He has been having gruelling treatment, but his kidneys started to fail a few weeks ago. We have known him since a baby. He is their only child.

He also buried his Dad yesterday(the lad's Grandad) who died 2 weeks ago in the same Care Home my Mum is in.

Life is so sh!te...

Life can seem so unfair sometimes.

den know how you feel, my nephew was 10 when diagnosed with a brain tumour, just as the five years were coming up it came back and he lasted six months. He would have been 21 this year. As you say life is broccoli

He was due to have a bone marrow transplant, after this last course of 6 week treatment. I think his body had just given up.

He was a really fit lad and used to swim for Essex in his early teens. Strange though at the same time he first contracted the leukemia, another girl in his swim team also had the same type of leukemia. We always wondered if there was a connection, like chemicals in the water etc.

That;s a scary thought. I hope it was just an unfortuante coincidence.

Can't even begin to imagine how the dad is feeling. So sad to lose two people you love in such a short space of time.
