Everyone in school was touched

there's a boy from my high school (never knew him personally) who is about 15 who had brain and spinal cancer last year, but I think he recovered, but never quite fully or it might have been the chemo etc making him weak.
But a couple of days ago he had a stroke and is now paralysed and has been given a few more days to live.
I've never seen the school effected like this before, even when a teacher died (I didn't know him either, so not sure if he was very popular). There were assemblies for all the three lower school year groups but sixth formers didn't and i don't really want to ask what was said. My chemsitry teacher is the deputy head so probably told us the jist of it (as above), but after the assemblies, there were people (girls, boys and even a teacher) in the corridoors crying.
have you ever witnessed something similar? 9as in the people being effected not what is actually happening to him).

Mr W who applied at B didn't get the job! I tohught he was a great teacher.
There might be a day when i don't have to go into 6th form and people will be at your place, i might go visit then to see how things have changed, might end up seeing you :/
