Not beagles B00 foxhounds are bigger and rougher coated.

Don't think of foxhounds for a pet! They are bred to run all day in packs, very energetic, hard to train as pets. Are you perhaps thinking of a beagle? They are smaller but still devils for hunting and poor on recall. Gun dogs like the pointer, german pointer and Weimaraner are easier to train but still need plenty of exercise and attention and have a long puppyhood and adolescence. mine are only just settling now at 3 and a bit years old
