I'm just going through the mountain of debit card receipts that's built up on my desk ...

... and binning them.

Is it best to just chuck them as soon as you get home each time?

I haven't got one.
Yep...or check when you're typing your pin in. Our local shop took £450 out instead of £45.
If its something for the home costing quite a lot, I keep them in a folder. If only for food or something small, then toss them.
i wait till they come through to my bank account when i check on-line, then rip them up and bin them.

Hmm.

I find myself thinking "I'd better keep that ..."

... but I'm not sure what for.
I always chuck them after i've checked them off my bank statement.

What, Greggs the bakery people?

LOL
ttfn keeps receipts - she uses them for her cooking references.
I'd wait till they appear on your statement, then shred them.

Statement? Aah. Err ... right.

I don't think I've checked a statement in ... well, forever, really.
I chuck the supermarket ones - after two days (just in case I buy a Greggs Steak and Bake or a donut with no icing)

and they always have a back up on their points statements if something goes pie-shaped.......

I usually keep receipts for large items and for the small priced ones, once they have been debited from my account, just chuck them in the bin.
