Sun Newspaper £9.50 Holiday
A friend applied for the last lot of Sun Holidays. She requested Costa Brava but was offered Butlins Skegness - quite a difference! She is not happy with this and wants a refund but the Ts&Cs say absolutely no cancellations. I think that as the holiday she's been offered is nowhere near the one she requested she has grounds for getting her money back. Anyone got any idea?

Did your friend put Skegness on the form at all. If she didn't they don't usually offer it to you. If that is the case she could ask for her money back. Worth a try anyway.
I'm sorry to say so but the old adage "if it seems to good to be true it probably is" seems to apply here. I have very rarely found an 'offer' to be other than the supermarket equivalent of a loss leader. Like train tickets or other travel offers they have a very limited amount of what takes your fancy. Some time ago we wished to go to NY for a birthday treat for my wife. We tried to book at once the offer arrived to find it was 'sold out' We were told they only have 4 rooms available for that offer and they had mysteriously been booked already!
We've been on a couple of these holidays in the U.K. and the first thing to say is that they're great value! The next is that if I sent back the form with less than four choices and they were all fully booked my form and cheque were returned to me with a priority booking form for the next time the offer came around. Unless they've changed the terms and conditions in the meantime it looks like Skeggie was one of the options on the form so that's why it's been allocated.
It's not Spain but it's still a great deal I think. It's so bracing.
