Certified copies of a registered enduring power of attorney (EPA)
Can anyone please tell me:
Can I use a Justice of the Peace to certify copies of an EPA?
I know that I can use a solicitor or pay for extra copies from the Office of the public guardian, and that many banks require the original anyway but as I have a friend who would be happy to oblige, it seems ridiculous. Any advice would be gratefully received. I don't think I can afford to get this wrong! Would you please indicate if your advice is based on legal training or personal experience - or both!!
Many thanks.

What matters is whether the bank will accept that certification. They ought to - but I did encounter one organisation (not a bank) that insisted that an OPG certified office copy needed a solicitor's signature as well.....
Better is to take the original into the bank and wait while they do it
