price to replace fan belt

hi guys

can you tell me approx how much to replace a fanbelt on a seat ibiza 1997 model... just roughly.

im hoping its just this..... any other suggestions welcome.  slight squeaky engine noise until yesterday when the squeaking was loud and constant.

Have you checked the water pump? They tend to squeak when they fail.

Sounds to me like the belt might just need adjusting, if it is a bit slack it will slip, and that makes it squeel.

To answer your question, replacing (or adjusting) a fan belt is a very easy job, something any competant home mechanic should be able to do themselves in fact. I would hope that a garage would charge no more than one hours labour for doing it, plus the cost of the belt if required.
