IRT - Deadliest Roads

I'm a massive fan of Ice Road Truckers ( Alaskan Style )

What is Lisa doing in this ' deadliest roads' version .
I know the Alaskan oil fields journeys are dangerous - but this Deadliest Road version is truly madness .

Does anyone know why she is doing it - has it been stated in any of the episodes ?

I've only watched one programme .

originally - abot 10 shows ago - the plan was for 3 of the IRT drivers to spend 8 weeks on these Himalyan roads delivering goods in aging Tata lorries - metal chassis but wooden cabs!!!

Lisa, Alex Debogorsky and the guy with the mohican hair (Ray??) started off in built up city and took their first loads up the hills. Alex had 2 major accidents in the first 30 miles (1 not his fault - other a bit iffy) and promptly went home. He was replaced by a 4th driver.

The roads are basically horrendous traffic jams and bits where the road has either slipped down a few hundred metres into the valley, been blocked by a landslide or has a raging torrent running accross it as the mountain snow melts.

Totally different setup to Alaska wher espeed weems to be the norm - here first gear up mountain goat roads seem the norm

Myself and OH have enjoyed it and would recommend to all

So are they doing it as more of a challenge to see how well they can perform - and less to do with earning a living ?

Wages? Probably from the TV company making the series
