Herbs and pork
4 Answers
Following on from my slow cooker question....I decided to go for a nice joint of pork done in the slow cooker instead of lamb. So i've got some pork and sage gravy to cook it in, but what other herbs can i add to the pork to make it just that little bit different. I was thinking of adding some thyme (fresh from the garden) or even slicing an apple and adding it. Help plz Andy |

6-8 cloves garlic
pepper
basil
1 glass dry white wine
onion
Cut 6-8 holes into the roast just big enough to fit a clove of garlic. Put a garlic
clove (peeled) into each hole. Rub outside with cracked pepper and basil. Pour dry white wine in the bottom of the slow cooker. Place roast in the slow cooker put slices or wedges of onion on top and around the roast. Cover and cook on low all day or until done.
You can also place potatoes and carrots in the bottom of the slow cooker, but I usually serve either mashed or baked potatoes and a veggie on the side.
