A few years ago I travelled in India and went to the Jaganmohan Palace in Mysore, where I saw a painting by the above person.  It really left an impression, but I forgot to write down the name!  I know I'd recognise it if I saw it again but I can't find any art books that show prints of his paintings.  I've looked on the web & found other info on him and his art, but not this painting.  Anyone recommend a good book of Indian modern art (1900-1940 ish) that I could look in?

Hi,

thanks for showing an interest in my question!  It was definitely Gaganendranath though - sibling or son to Rabindranath.  In fact, the Tagore family was huge and various people in it produced all sorts of literature and art.  But the painting I am interested in was definitely by Gaganendranath!
