Going in a few weeks, hopefully will be ok, was not too worried about protests in Egypt etc regarding holiday as Morocco is a democracy, but this is a bit worrying to say the least!

A couple had decided not to go ahead with their planned trip to Egypt, the insurance company are refusing to pay up because it was their decision not to go.
The same insurance document had an exemption stating that if there was civil unrest in the country they were holidaying in, then they would not cover costs for medical bills, getting out of there pronto etc!
You can't win!

Hmm -not sure if thats the case.Think if you were advised not to travel then that would negate your Insurance but I dont see that as the case here.We are off to Spain in a few weeks and anticipate hopping on the ferry to Morocco and I havent as yet been told not to.Wouldnt the British Consulate be the ones who would have an absolute say on whether they advised travel or not -ergo thats when the Insurers would/or wouldnt pay up.
I personally cant see Morocco getting caught up in this current civil unrest -I may be wrong but I would hang fire at the moment.Think it will be more Middle East we will be advised to avoid.

We've just come back from Southern Spain and trips to Morocco are still being advertised all over the place. However - who knows. There is a faction calling for uprising there too. http://www.alarabiya....011/02/19/138343.html
We were in Marrakesh last year. Check your travel insurance, civil unrest may be an exclusion, you need to know now.

Okay Dokay -we'll monitor when we're there. We were having a trip from our home to my Aunts in Andalucia for a couple of days so we thought we'd hop on the ferry at Almeria and have a coupl days in Morocco.
Can wait until next trip for us but not so good for you slinky...guess you'll have to just hang fire so to speak -your agent might transfer you to another resort -try them again in the morning.
