Why is it that the people who come forward are too embarrassed to go to the doctor's, or to insist the doctor get it sorted properly, but don't mind 5 million viewers looking where the sun don't shine / mould has grown?

Probably just for self assurance, somebody to say "No its fine" but WHY get filmed and watched by millions.

Good question there, mosiac! Is is because they are paid to go on this show, but they are not paid to go to the doctor?

I suffer from an embarrassing illness too.

Dont think they get paid?
It will be more to with the level of treatment and after care they will get as part of going on the show, as opposed to the local NHS sexual health clinic or GP for instance. Otherwise, why the hell would you go on??...

My husband had never watched this programme and the other week I changed channel at the exact moment the camera homed in on a woman with her legs wide apart showing all her glory-the look on hubby's face was absolutely priceless, real tea-spluttering, What The Funicular? moment.
