I live in Essex and went into the ladies toilets in a tiny little village in Cornwall, and there was a lady there who lived just along the street from my mum, also in Essex.
Took caravan when kids were young to Vendée (St Juan Le Monts) and picked a random site from many.2nd day met a guy who I was brought up with in the washing dishes bit.
Same in Kirschzarten in the Black Forest with another local -she was miffed cos i said I thought I recognised the accent and she so didnt want to have an accent -snobby cow:)
One of the best ones I know of was my mate went to St.Andrews with her mother.She got the ticket for the car and they went on their way.Halfway around the shops her Mum met a dear friend -they chatted for half an hour until they decided to go on their ways.My mate asked who it was -her Mum said -o it was a woman I met in the car park when you were getting the ticket.........true :))
We went to Tunisia about 1978 and there was someone from our town there and when we went to the Isle of Wight a few years later, the same person was also there with a group of children from the local church
