Mosquitos

Thinking of getting a mosquito cream for protection on holiday. I seem to remember there is something unsafe in some of the creams/preparations but I can't remember what it is called. What is a good cream to buy please?

Jungle spray is good, but to be honest I have found Avon's Skin so Soft body oil spray a really effective deterrent (and I know I am not the only one!). I take that with me, and a stick of After Bite in case any of the little blighters get through - cross fingers, it's worked OK recently!
I know boxtops, they never have made any claims, but my daughter is a travel agent, and has been all over the world, she has been using it for about the last 6 years at least, she says it works really well, I suppose that Avon won't make claims because the product wasn't designed for this purpose, and folk just found out by accident that it works, and then it spread by word of mouth!.........
my other half is a mozzie magnet and the only thing that works for him is jungle formula, it also came out tops in a number of trials. he/we've also tried the avon dry oil but haven't found it very effective although we both still use it as a moisturiser.

Went to West Africa this winter and got plagued with mozzies. Local guys all use a Chinese preparation bought locally.
Yesterday went to one of those Chinese 'pharmacies' and bought some.
It is a small phial which contains things like peppermint oil, eucalyptus, menthol and a few bits and pieces. Have to say it was the most effective relief we have used in years.
Cost £3 btw.

I'm off to Sri Lanka for the third time on the 28th of this month. Apparently sweet smells attract them so I use Simple unscented shower gel and deodorant and then Jungle Extra Strength formula, see link below, and I have never been bitten. I use three cans over two weeks. Have a great time wherever you're going.
