It's not solitude though Salla. You'll be locked up in a very small space with a stranger...

A lot will depend on which prison he goes’s to, which wing or unit he ends up on. As other have said there can be people inside you don’t want to meet, the other worst part is finding things to do to keep yourself busy. It helps to do work or education and visit the library. They can make calls when unlocked, but some times will have to wait for a phone to become free.
Im on bail at the moment from a cat B prison, it was my first time in prison and i have to admit i was afraid of what it would be like, especially of how its portrayed in films and on TV, but it is so different to what you think it would be like, there is no gangs, no bullying, no rape etc, there are occasional scuffles between two people who have had an argument etc, but people don't just pick fights with you or pick on you! there was little weedy gimps in there who never got any hassle, everyone just gets along! i made so many friends inside, i was in a 4 man cell also called a dorm, and all my cell mates were my age, we used to have such laughs in the cell, we used to play playstation alot, usually winner stays on on fifa, we also had a big hifi so used to play music and play cards, you also get a tv with freeview in every cell, so we watched all the soaps lol, you also get a kettle so we would cook currys etc in the kettle! we all became really close, almost like brothers, so was good having them there while your away from family. we all looked out for each other. i got on with everyone on the wing, and had alot of friends. so when we i was out the cell i would chill and socialize with all my mates on the wing, usually playing pool which was always a laugh, everyone got along and had a laugh and there was a good atmosphere on the wing, another thing not to believe is about bent screws being violent etc, the screws have a laugh with ya! most of them in the prison i was in were not much older than me, you could have a laugh with em and they would help you out, they were also good for some friendly banter! moving onto the food, i loved the prison food! everyday you get 2 dinners, with a choice of 10 options, i usually had pasta or chicken kievs, but they did some nice meals too. and also sponge and custard etc for dessert, i got to go to the gym 5 days a week and started to loose loads of weight! its good in the gym as everyone helps each other out and trains toget
