BBC2 last night.

What a lovely programme - I was in tears on quite a few occasions. Both the youngsters and the oldsters are getting a lot out of this 'experiment'. It is one of the nicest reality documentaries I have seen on tv for a long time.

I love the older chappie with early Parkinsons who plays the guitar.

trigger....this is what it means:

in 5 mins time I shall go to my club, read the paper, have a chat, football etc and then go to the Health Club for 45mins..............NOT A BLOODY GUITAR IN SIGHT:

Why should he? He plays Take Me Home Again Kathleen for his peers and strums along to more modern stuff with his younger companions. He also plays the harmonica and gets obvious pleasure out of his music.

It is a lovely series trigger - last night was episode 2, it continues next week. I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's not mushy or oversentimental and shows the good as well as the bad.
YOU are not in a nursing home sqad.....so you can do as you please. I am sure this old chap is happy with simple things that he can do....with or without Parkinsons.....

It is worth watching pinki - starting with episode 1 if possible, but last night's was watchable on its own merit.

trigger - the guy with the guitar is called Trevor. It was taking the mick a bit (unintentionally I'm sure when the young lad got him to jam with him on Knocking On Heaven's Door...). But all in all it was very moving, touching and informative.
I also cried, and feel so guilty cos I couldn't look after old people and I am becoming one! Most of them had their wits about them and had done so much (one even invented the electronic calulator 50yrs ago) and there he was laying immobile. so sad. Really moved me.
Saw it..thought it was quite sweet....how attitudes changed given a wee bit time together...Bags the carer with the guitar...!!

The blonde lad or the dark guy murray? I think they're both lovely. I just want to give the dark lad a big cuddle (wasn't it nice when Trevor said he was proud of him).

I didn't take to the black girl Estentia (or whatever) at first, but have seen a different side to her after the 2nd episode.
I'd planned to watch but we ended up watching something else - clash of progs!
