I've forgotten the name of the pill that was given for morning sickness and caused a great deal of damage, but I expect you know what I mean. I used to eat just a couple of dry biscuits or toast as alba has suggested. I couldn't even stand the smell of tea, my usual mainstay. Cheer up though, it will be worth it eventually.
tweeny, are you being sick constantly? ie not able to hold anything down for more than a few mins even water? If thats the case then I'd go back to GP.
But if this is standard morning sickness then its a case of wait it out im afraid. I cant come up with any sure fire ways of stopping it, i was very lucky in that i didnt feel too bad with my first, and my second i was sick a handful of times in total.
One tip my mum gave me was to eat something before getting up. can you other half make you a cuppa and give you some plain biscuits (arrowroot or ginger can be good too) to drink and eat before you move from the bed?
You could also try sickness bands, they are for travel sickness and youll find them in most chemists. Or sucking on mint / fruit boiled sweets.
Other than that it really is a case of getting to that magic 12 week mark and hoping it eases off.
sorry that Im not as much help as alba thought i may be :(
I hope it passes soon

With both my pregnancies I munched on bananas, milk and dry bread, they were the only foods that didn't make me feel sick, as well as Citrus Fruits. I always felt sick on car journeys too whilst pregnant - try Sea Bands on your writst. With my daughter my sickness stopped at 12 weeks, with my Son it was 16 weeks. It will go, but it is horrible, ironically the first 4 months when you feel quite ill, nobody can see that you are pregnant. Its when you are massive at 8 and 9 months that people offer you seats on buses/trains etc, but I felt really well at the late stages. Good luck
My sister had morning sickness so bad with both her kids, when she got to 5months pregnant she had lost 1 + 1/2 stone. At 5months it was like some one had flicked a switch as it stopped instant. She oftern called her G.P out (she was to ill to move) who would just say "oh it'll pass".
I had it for 12 weeks and while I was being sick my hubby would be making me a fryed egg sarnie as that always made me feel better.
tweenyb I hope it passes soon it's all worth it in the end.

when i was pregnant with my eldest i was sick at least 4/5 times a day everyday for the entire pregnancy,i weighed just under 8 and a half stone a week before i gave birth,it was horrendous, when i was preggers with my second child thia started again so i went to a homeopath and she gave me these little balls that looked like sugar but they worked, within hours my sickness had more or less stopped completley.May be worth you trying that?Good luck
